February

Wow! February has passes so quickly! I have been so busy with everything, that I barely noticed the month had passed me by!

Kalin and I went out dancing for Valentine's Day/Night with my grandparents, and it was tons of fun! The band that played at my grandparent's 50th Wedding Anniversary was playing at the dance hall, and we took the boys with us, so Micah had lots of fun, and was asleep in the car before we were out of the parking lot. I made Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Pretzels for the night and everyone seemed to enjoy them. I had never made them before, but I think they turned out beautifully.

This past Sunday, we went to church, then to my grandmas (like always) to eat lunch and play some cards, then we ventured to Kalin's Grandma's house for a family BBQ. We hadn't been there in a while, and Micah enjoyed playing with his Aunt and cousins.

We filed our taxes last week, and look forward to getting our tax return so that we can put a nice down payment on a newer model car. I am SO tired of trying to get two kids into a two door compact car! I can't wait to get something larger and better on gas! Also, with our tax return, we will be putting some money towards fixing Kalin's car -- his shocks are out, among a few other things. We are also hoping to sell our red Mazda Protege, so that will help with the down payment and the monthly payments.

I made an apron for Micah the other day out of John Deere material I found at WalMart. It's absolutely adorable! I'll be adding pictures soon.

But that's about all for today... Have a great day!

God Bless!

My Kids

Elijah had his 4 month check-up on Monday! I can't believe he's already 4 months old! His weight was 14 pounds 12 ounces, and his length was 24.25 inches long. He has more than doubled in weight, and has grown 4.25 inches! The doctor says he's right on track to be tall and skinny, just like his big brother, Micah, is! He got two shots and one oral vaccine, and he cried for the second shot, but not for long.

Some days I look at the boys and I think, "I can't believe I'm a mother to two boys!" If you had asked me as a kid if I thought at 22 I would be married for nearly 4 years and have a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old, I never would have believed it. I didn't plan my life this way, but I can't imagine any other way to live it. Yes, I have my days where I just want to [hypothetically] wring their necks, but I have many more days where I enjoy the heck out of them and their creativity and optimism. Elijah laughs and coos at all sorts of things now. He can even roll from tummy to back. And every day when Kalin leaves to go to work, Micah waves bye-bye to daddy, then waves bye-bye to me and tells me he's going to work, too. It's the cutest thing in the world.

If only they could stay just like they are -- or maybe not. Either way, I'll always love them unconditionally.
