More Than Sparrows Ministry

We have created More Than Sparrows ministry based on Matthew 10:31, which reads, "Do not be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows." Our ultimate goal in Seattle is to be the "hands and feet" of Christ, and show the people there that no matter their past, present or future, God loves them; always has and always will. We want them to understand that they matter and have value - no matter how small and useless the world has made them feel.

As missionaries, we are hoping to be able to move to Seattle and be fully funded, so that we can focus all of our time and energy on our mission, ministry, and the people in the community, rather than have to get jobs and work full time and use what little spare time we would have on our mission and ministry. The cost to move from Texas to Seattle is around $5500, and the cost to sustain our family for one month is approximately $4000.

We have just begun our fundraising, and we are searching for people who will invest in the work God has called us to do in Seattle. We are believing God to provide for all our needs during the move, and while we are building our lives, as well as More Than Sparrows Ministry, in Seattle. We believe that prayer is very powerful, and we know that prayer can move mountains. We also know that God will open some hearts so that we can use all our time to fulfill His calling on our lives. What we are asking you to consider investing is 1% of your annual income, split into 12 monthly payments. Can you afford that? What about 2% or even 3%?

We have newsletters available for you anyone who would like more information on our mission, our ministry, or the Seattle area we are going to. Please feel free to contact us via e-mail (morethansparrows@att.net), facebook (www.facebook.com/morethansparrowsministry), or by phone (830-305-2115).

New Adventures On The Horizon

For the past 9 months or so, Kalin and I have been spending a lot of time praying and pursuing God's plan for our lives. In June of 2011, we went on a mission trip with our church youth group to Seattle, WA, and when we got back, Kalin and I both felt like our hearts were still there. We have prayed about it extensively, and have discussed it until there was nothing left to say.
The bottom line is that God has called us to Seattle, WA as missionaries to help spread the love of Jesus into one of the most non-Christian regions of the United States. We will be working along side Epic Life Church to help build community and show the people of this city that they have value in God's eyes. We will be helping with The Old Motel Project, the Community Garden and any other outreach ministry we can.

Please stay tuned for more updates and information on our move!
